Surgery and Recovery
Breast lift surgery is typically an outpatient procedure. Incisions are made in the shape of a "lolly-pop," or an anchor, around the areola, down the center of the underside of each breast, and often horizontally along the bottom of the breasts. Excess skin is carefully trimmed away and the nipples are repositioned for a younger and perkier appearance. Although a breast lift alone will cause breasts to look fuller, many patients choose to have breast implants inserted at the same time as their breast lift surgery to create a more curvaceous appearance.
After breast lift surgery, patients are fitted with a surgical bra and instructed to rest at home for a few days until they feel well enough to be up and about. One or two weeks after surgery, breast lift patients return to the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas office of The Gunter Center so that Dr. Bogdan can remove stitches. Patients frequently look years younger after the procedure. Results can be long lasting, depending on the patient’s age as well as the weight and size of their breasts.
